My approach is based on the
simple attempt to be present to what is happening. What is unusual about
this is the combination of a focus on the present, a therapeutic understanding
of emotional dynamics and a training / organisational background which
sets the work in context and allows me to move back and forth from the
personal to the organisational level.
Usually we are speeding off trying to fix the problem; to avoid uncertainty
or responsibility. By simply attending to the undercurrents of what is
going on deeper entrenched patterns or fixed ways of thinking can be addressed.
This promotes a greater understanding of the situation and therefore more
successful interventions. Central to this is anticipation and exploration
of the downsides of any change initiative in order to be able to relate
and respond to challenges that may arise.
On Being Human expresses my purpose and belief in encouraging
myself and others to stop hiding and to contribute our subjective, personal,
confused, brilliant richness to the world. By allowing people to bring
their human selves to work the team/organisation is strengthened, people
are happier and able to respond more creatively to new challenges.
